In the search for products that we want to buy, there are times when we order something that doesn’t work out for us. The people who buy Amazon products through your Associate links are no different. When a product doesn’t fit or doesn’t work, you will see returned items listed in your Earnings Report.
How are Returns Handled?
Returns are handled by Amazon by the process in their Return policy. Amazon Associates Advertising Fees are issued approximately 60 days after the items have been shipped.
This works in the Associates favor.
The time between shipping and payments being sent is long enough that when refunds are issued, they don’t affect our payments. They don’t take money back from us once it is issued but rather they deduct it from pending payments. They didn’t need to pull a refund from my payment.
There may be times when a product is returned later, and in that case they will deduct the refund from your payment the following month. There should not be any situation where you would need to refund the money from a returned item.
